A Day In The Life of Author Samantha Warren

What’s life like for a fantasy writer who milks cows in her spare time? Messy, creative, and very odd.
4am: OMG, who changed my alarm? It’s too early for this. Holy crap, it’s already 4?? Gah. I roll out of bed and stumble downstairs to get ready.
4:15am: I plod to the barn, watching carefully for rogue skunks or possums that may have sneaked into the woodshed/hallway during the night.
4:17am: After getting the coffee pot brewing, I proceed to get covered in cow poo for the next three hours.
7:30am: Shower, breakfast, more coffee.
8am: I wander upstairs, plop down in front of my computer, and immediately get distracted by Facebook.
10am: Wired with coffee, I finally pull up yWriter and get my butt writing.
At some point during the day, I usually curl up for a bit of a nap and a recharge. I take frequent breaks from writing so I don’t get a bigger writer’s butt than I already have. Penelope, my tortoise shell feline, wanders in and talks to me for awhile, eventually curling up in the box below the window.
3:45pm: Where did my day go?? Cursing whoever sped up the day, I run downstairs to get ready to go to the barn again.
4pm: Again, I get covered in poo. Milking cows is a dirty job. Mike Rowe, eat your heart out.
6:30pm: I come inside, wash up, eat dinner, then check Facebook and email one last time.
7pm: I climb into bed, determined to read for an hour before I go to sleep.
9pm: I finally put my Kindle away, mentally curse the author who is screwing up my sleep schedule, then curl up and go to sleep. And that’s a day in the life of me, Samantha Warren, fantasy writer and milkmaid extraordinaire.
